The third hike in our series is perhaps the most scenic. Unfortunately, it was raining most of the day, so I didn't have my camera out much. Torrey Pines State Reserve has a number of short trails that take advantage of La Jolla's drastic topography and beautiful scenery to provide a uniquely west coast experience. Starting from the top of the hill, you walk down to where the vast sandstone cliffs spill into the Pacific Ocean.
Even if you're not in the mood for a hike, this is a beautiful place to just go and find a quiet place to read or take photos. I know I plan on going back sometime when it's not rainy to get more photos. This would also be a spectacular spot to view the sunset.
