Most of my clothes got mostly dry during the night in Nebraska. Day 4 was to be more leisurely than the previous days. We only had about 7 hours to drive to get to our next stop, Fort Collins, and our host in Colorado didn't get off work until 7, so we didn't need to leave before noon. We slept in, then I gathered my mostly dried clothes back together, then we packed up and headed to a nearby Iron Skillet for breakfast. Our food options here weren't that different than those in the many Denny's-like restaurants we'd been forced to eat at thus far. We hoped our options beyond Nebraska would be better. After my quesadilla and Reub's steak salad, we hit the road. The scenery driving the length of Nebraska is, surprisingly, much more varied and interesting than the same length drive through Kansas like those I made last year and the year before. We didn't regret sticking to the more northerly I-80 route instead of dropping down to I-70. We stopped for gas in quaint Chappell, Nebraska, then made it into Fort Collins at around 6pm, meeting up with Mike at his work. Once Mike was off of work, we went to downtown Fort Collins and met up with other FtCo folks for dinner and drinks. Nearing the point of exhaustion, we finally went back to Mike's house to crash. Mike is in the process of moving in, a common theme on this trip, so the only actual bed-like thing that was available to us was the couch, while there was room for 2 to sleep on the floor in Mike's room. Since neither of them wanted to try to sleep through my snoring, I won the couch by default. Score.

Now it is Sunday morning, and we don't even know where we're going from here. We'll either take 25 to 70 to 15, or 25 to 80 to 395. It looks like we've decided on the shorter but less scenic southern route towards Las Vegas. It's still quite scenic, though. With that, I need to get going.
